Project preparation under climate funds is a craft with a steep and largely undocumented learning curve. The templates are public and sometimes outdated or incorporate superseded instructions. What is not public is the judgment: which sections reviewers weight, where a concept note loses credibility in its first two pages, how a screening decision made early forecloses a financing route later, and what the difference is between a proposal that is compliant and one that is bankable.

The templates are public. The judgment that gets a proposal funded is not, and it is learned one submission at a time.

The NbS Praxis toolkits turn that preparation experience into working resources. The first covers the Green Climate Fund concept note: an orientation module for practitioners new to the instrument, a bridging guide between template versions, the screening logic that determines whether a project belongs in this instrument at all, an annotated template, and a failure-mode checklist drawn from what goes wrong. Successors will cover Readiness, the Project Preparation Facility, and the full funding proposal, then the equivalent instruments with other climate funds.

The first toolkit is in preparation. To be notified when it is released, subscribe to the weekly briefing — the announcement goes there first — or write to hello@nbspraxis.com.
